We use Plastazote by Zotefoams for foam inserts – a very high quality cross-linking foam with excellent technical properties.
Plastazote® is the world’s most recognised polyethylene foam. It has earned a reputation for its unique properties and excellent performance achieved at relatively low densities.
This type of foam is expanded without the use of chemical blowing agents, and the only gas used to expand the foam is pure nitrogen. This foam is therefore chemically and biologically inert. This is important using it in medical devices and wherever there is contact with user skin. Medical and food approvals can be obtained using this foam. An important feature of this unique technology is the even distribution of the foam density throughout the sheet.
Plastazote foam is not like a sponge, where the cells are open and connected, so gases and liquids are not easily absorbed. Unlike other foams, it is strong and flexible due to the regular shapes, sides and walls of the polyethylene cells. When Plastazote foam is compressed, each cell acts like a balloon and the foam returns to its original shape.
Plastazote Foam Applications
Plastazote foam is used for packaging: electronics and household appliances, glass, ceramics, tools, metal parts, laser equipment, computer equipment, important gifts or items, optics and military equipment, and other critical packaging and transport.
Plastazote foam is lightweight, non-toxic, odourless and does not absorb water. It can be washed, disinfected and wiped clean and has excellent chemical resistance to most oils, solvents, acids and alkalis. Plastazote is weatherproof and has good UV stability, is durable, tough and flexible and is rebuildable after impact. It is highly energy absorbent and a very good thermal insulator.
Protective packaging liners made of Plastazote foam offer the highest level of protection for laser or military equipment, optical instruments, computer equipment, etc. Our capabilities and machine tools allow us to manufacture protective foam inserts to the exact shape of your product and to plan the layout of all the necessary equipment or additional parts as required by the product instructions or transport requirements.
We can offer stock foam inserts in black or custom-made inserts in blue, red, yellow or other colours.
